No. Apart from the 'FY cakes' All of our Wedding & celebration cakes are individually designed.

Of course. Each tier of your cake can be a different flavour.  We have a whole menu of sponge cake flavours to choose from

  • How far in advance do we need to order our wedding cake?

This really depends on the time of year that your wedding is taking place. The summer months are very busy. We often have clients booking their Fondantly Yours wedding cake as much as a year or more in advance. But its always worth calling to see if we have a space. In exceptional circumstances we have turned a wedding cake around within a few days, when clients have been let down.

  • How far in advance do we need to order a celebration cake?

We typically need two weeks notice for most celebration cakes and longer for some of the more complicated designs, particularly when we are busy. But its worth contacting us to see if we can fit something in our schedule.

  • Can we taste the cakes?

We provide sample cakes as a part of the service for all our confirmed wedding cake clients. We cannot provide samples for other types of celebration cakes. You are welcome to buy half a dozen cupcakes in mixed flavours if you want to try something different.

  • I am allergic to nuts. Can you make me a nut free cake?

Sue is a qualified chef and has a working background as a special needs / dietary chef.  We do use nut products in our kitchen, but equally we follow very strict storage and cross contamination control. We are happy to discuss any special requirements or concerns that you might have, Please look at our page for food allergies and intolerences.

  • Can you make gluten free cakes?

Certainly. We have an excellent reputation for our gluten free cakes and they can be made in a variety of sponge flavours and our classic fruit cake. Please look at our page for Food allergies & intolerences

  • Q. Can we/you put fresh flowers on our cake

We don't recommend using fresh flowers, Most florist flowers have been commercially farmed and  grown using fertilisers, feeds and insecticides that should not be in contact with food.  Equally many commonly used bouquet flowers and leaves are poisonous,  you can easily check this out on the internet.  In order to look their best, fresh flowers need to be watered or mist sprayed and this can easily damage / leave marks on your cakes icing.

As sugar artists we can make most varieties of flowers from sugar paste,  including colouring and hand tinting them to match your colour scheme.  This is one of the key differences and signs of a traditional cake maker and skilled artisan decorator, over someone who can simply bake a cake.
